Knowing your baby skin type is important
The baby's skin is delicate, and the baby's skin rashes are prone to happen at any time. Knowing your baby's skin type is the key to understanding what you can do when the rashes happen. The more you know, the better you can handle it.
Five main baby skin types are common to babies of all ethnicities, Dry, Normal Dry, Normal, Normal Sensitive, and Sensitive. Different types of skin rashes are related to those five skin types. However, the newborn rash could happen to all skin types and be annoying for both the baby and the parents.
Dry Skin

Normal Dry Skin & Normal Skin
Some common rash might happen to normal dry skin and normal skin, but no need to be worried. Make sure the newborn dry skin stays moisturized. There's a common condition called milia. Milia are tiny, white, little bumps that look like pimples on a baby's face. Those tiny white bumps do not harm. This skin problem usually disappears within a few days or weeks and needs no treatment.
Normal Sensitive Skin
Normal sensitive skin is the type of skin condition that you may be aware of. Sometimes you may notice a few red blotches on the baby's skin. Don't worry too much. An insect bite or allergic reaction may just cause those red spots. It is not uncommon that a baby's skin has an allergic reaction to certain materials or temperatures. Diaper rash, nappy rash, and heat rash are very common. If some small red bumps happen around the baby's diaper area, the baby might be sensitive to the diaper changing product you use.
Sensitive Skin
You have to pay extra attention to the sensitive skin type. Skin rashes that happen on those sensitive skins are worse. Remember to change the wet diaper as soon as possible to avoid irritation and heat rash.
